Music And Food Merge At Romantic Vibrato Jazz Grill
Spearheaded by legendary jazz trumpeter and music producer Herb Alpert, Vibrato Jazz Grill is both a pleasure for the ears and the taste buds. Tucked away in a tiny shopping center at the top of Beverly Glen Boulevard, the 150-seat contemporary supper and jazz club provides a perfect setting where famous musicians and filet mignon merge.
The semi-circular restaurant resembles a small concert hall where the warm décor of blonde wood walls, corner fireplace and huge red and orange copper orbs hanging from the ceiling is crafted for ideal acoustics as well as aesthetics. The state of the art sound system is housed amidst Alpert's own abstract paintings, cozy booths, and intimate tables. The menu's excellent steak and seafood entrees mix well with the stars onstage, providing one of the only upscale restaurants in Los Angeles that features live jazz.
Appetizers include Ahi tuna tartare, oysters, a Maine lobster martini, lamb lollipops, shrimp and grits, white truffle arancini and baby beet and goat cheese salad. Entrees include a whole bronzino, lamb chops, salmon in a beurre blanc, pan roasted sea bass, slow braised short ribs and a variety of prime cuts of beef. Vibrato also offers a variety of fresh side dishes including lobster mac n cheese, creamed spinach, buttered corn and roasted mushrooms. Desserts include a caramel apple pie, crème brulee, chocolate butterscotch pudding and a meyer lemon tart.
