Still bummed about Momofuku Milk Bar's decision to drop their cake-by-the-slice option? The backlash must have been pretty fierce, because as of this week, both the East Village and Midtown shop locations are offering an alternative: cake bonbons.

Now, for $3.00 a packet, you get three bonbons, like little MomoMunchkins, available in all your favorite familiar flavors. There's Chocolate Malt, dense and fudgey, and Birthday Cake, a par-cooked rainbow cake dough rolled up in a ball with sprinkles. One suggestion we'd make to the folks at Milk Bar: how about a pick-n-mix-style, make-your-own packet option?
