Mike Tyson Burger Dines With Jersey City Seniors

On Monday, after dancing with Neil Patrick Harris at the Tony Awards the night before, former heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson, made a surprise appearance at a senior center in Jersey City and knocked out some burgers. The event was for Assemblyman Sean Connors, who is running on Mayor-elect Steven Fulop's ticket for councilman in Jersey City Heights.

Tyson showed up because he was invited by his close friend Mario Costa, the owner of the Ringside Lounge and the White Mana restaurant, who catered the event. Many attendees found themselves in shock as the Tyson appearance rumor was true, Tyson waltzing into the center by his confident lonesome.

"I was in New York last night and Mario said he was going to be cooking burgers and fries, and since he is a friend I came to help him spread the love," Tyson told the Jersey Journal. Tyson posed for photos and signed autographs for the Jersey City senior citizens after the meal. One of the seniors present joked to NJ.com, "I did not know 'Iron Mike' would be so good with an iron frying pan."
