Named after a piece of French heavy artillery used in WWI, this updated version uses the sweeter juice of the Meyer lemon next to the gentle greenness of fresh cucumber. I like to use Hendrick’s gin for this one to compliment the cucumber.

Ingredients
- 2 Ounces gin
- 1 Ounce Meyer lemon juice
- 1 bar spoonful of simple syrup
- 4 Ounces champagne
- 1 slice of cucumber
- Lemon twist for garnish
Directions
In the bottom a mixing glass, gently muddle the cucumber, careful to keep it mostly intact. Add gin, Meyer lemon juice, simple syrup and ice. and Stir until chilled. Strain through a fine mesh tea strainer into a coupe glass, and top with champagne. Garnish with lemon twist.
