As “il mare” means “sea” in Italian, Marea definitely owns up to its title. This restaurant is a Manhattan hotspot for Italian seafood with some extremely outstanding popular dishes that can take any diner’s breath away. However, some of the other dishes on the menu do not live up to the high standards of the popular selection and could be considered mediocre at best.
Summary: Extensive wine list, seafood inspired menu, pricy, additional raw fish/shellfish selection
Recommended/popular dishes: Ricci (Sea Urchin), Polipo (Grilled Octopus), Astice (Lobster Burrata), Tortelli (Lobster Raviolli), Spaghetti, Bistecca and Fusilli
