Make Sculptures Out Of Cans, Do Some Good

If these 44 ways to fight hunger in America aren't enough for you, here's some good news. Canstruction® is touring the nation, raising awareness and food for those in need.

Here's how it works: Canstruction® hosts a competition in any city, asking people to create giant sculptures out of canned food. The sculptures are then displayed to the public; when the exhibit is taken down, all the food used in the structures is donated to local food banks.

Last year, Canstruction® collected more than 2 million pounds of food. The next stops are New York City, Austin, and Houston, with multiple cities scheduled through September 2012. Check out some past winners below.
