New Johnnie Walker Store Has Only 1 Bottle For Sale
How would you like to be the only person in your country to own an exclusive bottle of Johnnie Walker? Better head to Johnnie Walker's first-ever "One Bottle" liquor store, a South African store that has only one bottle for sale.
What's on offer? The first-ever Johnnie Walker Platinum Label in a collector's bottle, signed by master blender Jim Beveridge. The 18-year-old whisky is described on the website as "characterized by a sweet, elegant Speyside style and a subtle Islay smokiness and lays out a feast of flavors on the palate: expect stewed fruit, malty cereal, smooth creamy vanilla, nuts, and tangerines."
Of course, this bottle isn't just available to anybody; you have to bid on it, either in person at the store in Johannesburg, through Facebook, or on the Johnnie Walker website. So far, the auction has received 1,139 bids (and proceeds will go to South Africans Against Drunk Driving). The auction closes tomorrow, but we have to know: what happens to the store after the one bottle is sold?
