Each month, Mel's Burger Bar in New York City introduces a spiked milkshake inspired by the season. October's Jacked O'Lantern is perfect for Halloween, featuring custom-made pumpkin ice cream from New York manufacturer Max and Mina's.
To prepare the ice cream, a purée made from local pumpkins is combined with a special blend of spices and left to marinate overnight. Sugar, cinnamon, pumpkin purée and more of the special spice blend are added to Max and Mina's ice cream custard to make the final product.
- 2 ounces Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
- 8 ounces pumpkin ice cream
- 4 ounces milk
- Pinch of all spice, cinnamon, salt and pepper
Combine the pumpkin ice cream, milk, and spices in a blender and blend until it reaches the desired consistency.
Mix the rum into the milkshake and serve immediately.
