- 4 Cups flour
- 1/4 Cup sugar
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 Cups raisins
- 2 eggs
- 6 Tablespoons butter
- 2 Cups buttermilk
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt
Combine all dry ingredients.
Soften butter in the microwave.
Beat the eggs well, and mix in the butter.
Combine wet and dry ingredients.
Roll the dough into two logs.
Split dough to make two loaves.
Roll into round shape.
Score the dough with an X.
Place the dough on floured pans.
Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes or longer (should be golden brown on top).
Enjoy with butter or your favorite jam.
