Gently shape the gnocchi dough into a ball; Cut into four pieces.
On a lightly-floured surface, roll each piece into a ¾-inch-thick rope with your hands. Cut each rope into ¾-inch pieces.
Gently, but firmly, press each piece against the tines of a fork to make ridges on the back side (good for catching sauce).
Place back on the floured surface and cook as instructed.
