The Floral Rites Of Spring Holidays: Passover And Easter Centerpiece Ideas

The eclectic nature of our world is inspiring on so many levels. With diversity in culture, religion, and our everyday journeys, each one of us is set apart yet unified in our love of holiday celebrations. The one constant we agree on is the joy that flowers bring to our world. That, my friends, is a wonderful thing to behold in our ever-changing cultural environment.

There is such anticipation after the long winter months — the hope of continued growth and prosperity. The holidays of Easter and Passover join in the wonder of floral table designs that capture the essence of spring.

For Easter:

Flowers have accented family tables for centuries. From the simplest to the most elaborate, these designs always lend the final accent to the table setting. Generally created with spring flowers such as tulips, freesia, and hydrangea, today's designs reflect our individual styles.

When I page through décor and food magazines, I see a variety of fresh floral designs. Some are more creative, while others are simple clusters of flowers in vases. I love creating simple garlands of mixed greenery for clients, adding touches of fillers like statice for spring color. Some of my designs include succulents along with the floral choices, which can be planted after the holiday as a remembrance of a wonderful family get-together. How incredible is that!

For Passover:

While our lives are busy, filled with challenges that sometimes seem insurmountable, be assured that having flowers in your life will keep sanity at your door.  Surrounding yourself with those touches of nature will surely lighten the load. This season, let that joy embellish your holiday table with inspiring natural colors and the love of family and friends.
