Fun Holiday Cookie Recipes
In today's fast-paced world, it seems to be the norm to start thinking about Christmas and the holidays literally right after the turkey leaves the table. That is, after all, the idea behind Black Friday and Cyber Monday, retail blitzes for the brick-and-mortar and virtual worlds, respectively. But no matter how you do your holiday shopping, reality begins to set in when relatives start arriving (... again — weren't they just here over Thanksgiving?), lights start going up, and, depending on where you live (sorry, Australia) snow starts falling.
Time for a breather. It becomes all too easy to forget what the holiday spirit is about — sharing, caring, love, and of course, cookies! So pause for a moment, have some fun, and make some cookies. Get the kids in on it, too (just maybe not the amaretto cookies — you'll probably want to save those for yourself, post-shopping). And if you leave these by the tree with a glass of milk, maybe you'll get more presents than you expected. Perhaps from Santa, but more likely, just some friends or family who are hoping you'll make more cookies.
