'ForYourArt' Celebrates Los Angeles Artists

ForYourArt, a Los Angeles-based online art publication, hosts its inaugural New. Artisanal. Now on July 28 in West Hollywood. The one-day food and art celebration at 6020 Wilshire Boulevard aims to promote local artists and give them a chance to showcase their work.

Krista Simmons of Top Chefs Masters and LAist teamed up with Shawna Dawson of Artisanal LA and Michaele Musel of The Secret Fork to selected local food crafters to attend New. Artisanal. Now. The 12 local producers offer a variety of food items from brittle and chocolate sauce to smoked olives, bacon, and date spread.  Morning Glory Confections, Laura Ann's Jams, and Roma Chocolates will be among the local venders.

New. Artisanal. Now is scheduled to coincide with Made in L.A. 2012, the first large scale survey of Los Angeles-based artists which is sponsored by Hammer Museum. ForYourArt that curates opportunities for their readers to 'learn, collect and see' art.

Special edition tote bags will be available to benefit local food charity Food Forward, a group that distributes locally grown food to food pantries and organizations serving those in need.
