Foodspotting Adds Online Ordering
Late-night munchies are now an even bigger danger in your life if you're a Foodspotting user; today, the food porn app announced a partnership with GrubHub, connecting users to the online ordering system from their feed.
"When you're browsing Foodspotting, have you ever wished for a 'Buy it now!' button? Well, our partnership with GrubHub is the first step in that direction," their blog reads. From Foodspotting, you can see if the pictured restaurant offers pick-up or delivery, and you can order via GrubHub sans login.
In the past, Foodspotting has teamed up with Yelp for reviews, SinglePlatform for menus, and OpenTable for reservations. But the GrubHub deal is pretty brilliant, since the Internet is all about instant gratification.
"With GrubHub, it was the relaunch of their mobile website — which really streamlines the ordering experience — that prompted us to fast-track this integration," Foodspotting CEO Alexa Andrzejewsk told TechCrunch. Foodspotting hopes to integrate dish-specific ordering in the future, and the first 25 people to order through Foodspotting get $10 credit to GrubHub. But be careful; past studies show that just looking at food porn can affect weight, and this definitely isn't going to help our self-control.
