The fall is best time of year to buy pears. They are juicy and succulent, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity bosc pears which have a crunchy texture and a sweet and spicy flavor profile. Not to mention are perfect for my savory poached pear recipe.

Ingredients
  • 12 apples peeled & cored
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 4 cup apple cider
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 serrano peppers
Directions
  1. Bring all the ingredients to a simmer and cook 30 minutes. Remove cinnamon stick and by leaf and pass through a food mill.
