Firecracker Applesauce
The fall is best time of year to buy pears. They are juicy and succulent, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity bosc pears which have a crunchy texture and a sweet and spicy flavor profile. Not to mention are perfect for my savory poached pear recipe.

Ingredients
- 12 apples peeled & cored
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 4 cup apple cider
- 3 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 serrano peppers
Directions
- Bring all the ingredients to a simmer and cook 30 minutes. Remove cinnamon stick and by leaf and pass through a food mill.
