For our previous lists of the best colleges for tailgating — published in 2013 and 2014— we relied upon your opinions. Last year, there was a battle between the Southeastern and Northeastern regions of the country, but in the end, the Northeast won most of the spots on our top 25 list. However, Louisiana State University took the top spot by serving up Creole classics like steamy bowls of gumbo and fresh-boiled crawfish.
This year, we're mixing things by adding a few more universities to the list, such as East Carolina University and Prairie View A&M University. We diversified our list because we noticed that our list consisted predominantly of nationally recognized Division 1 schools. The population of a school is not the determining factor — it's about the traditions, food staples, fan engagement, and overall experience.
