25 Kitchen Essentials Newlyweds Need (Slideshow)
November 14, 2013
Every couple’s new kitchen should be stacked with these must-haves
A Large-Cup Food Processor
It may seem non-essential, but having a good food processor in the kitchen can save you time and — should you not be adept at handling a knife — trips to the emergency room. A food processor with multiple blades for chopping and slicing is a definite life-saver. A small-cup food processor will do the trick, sure. But something larger will make life a lot easier if you plan on entertaining or cooking for a big family.
A Dutch Oven
Listen, you can't register for kitchen items and not include a good, heavy-duty Dutch oven on your list. It's a multipurpose tool, working as a stockpot, a soup pot, a braising vessel, and more. Pretty much anything you'd want to make, you can make in a Dutch oven.
A Stand Mixer
It may not seem like a necessity but trust us, a good stand mixer will save your life. At least in the kitchen. Whether you want to start new family baking traditions or have an old love for getting in the kitchen, a stand mixer will save you a ton of trouble and time.
Food goes bad so quickly that it can often lead to trouble and unnecessary spending. A food sealer, one that vacuums your food up tightly, will save you a bundle in the long run.
Soda makers are somewhat new to the kitchen appliance market, but they are a definite plus to have around. Whip up fizzy cocktails or fun sodas in a snap.
