West Hollywood's Doheny Room Launches Sunday Brunch

Housed between two legendary locations, Dan Tana's restaurant and the Troubadour night club, the Doheny Room on Santa Monica Boulevard is now offering Sunday brunch.

The two-story lounge and restaurant has been open for almost a year. Designed by the Rockwell Group, the airy interior features wood shutters, floor-to-ceiling windows, and portraits of celebrities such as Mick Jagger, David Bowie, and Faye Dunaway. The first floor's massive bar is located in the center of the space, with sofa banquettes and round tables throughout the dining room. Upstairs, wooden floors, a smaller bar and a U-shaped balcony provide a view to the action downstairs.

Chef Danny Elmaleh's new brunch menu features a variety of international-influenced egg dishes, including kimchi fried rice with grilled bacon; vegetable shakshuka with soy chorizo and roasted vegetables; a Greek omelet; steak and eggs; truffle mushroom toast; and pasta carbonara. Bigger plates include avocado toast with roasted beets; fried chicken and biscuits with country gravy; a chicken torta; shrimp and grits with lobster gravy; and a double breakfast burger. There's also smoked salmon and a prosciutto and asparagus Benedict, as well as sweeter offerings of maple challah French toast, pumpkin pie pancakes, and ricotta soufflé pancakes.

Brunch cocktails are innovative, with highlights including the Freddie Mercury, with Belvedere orange, Aperol, grapefruit and lemon juices, and prosecco; the Martini McFly, with vodka, Combier Royal, apricot jam, and lemon juice; and the Lolita, with cherry vodka, lemon juice, raspberries, and prosecco.
