Salt & Straw Opens In LA's Arts District

Located across from Blacktop Coffee in downtown Los Angeles' Arts District, the newest Salt & Straw ice cream shop has opened. Located in a 1,800-square-foot space, it's the largest of the four LA locations.

The space is bright and airy with big windows and communal wooden benches and a retail section selling chocolate bars, jams, sea salts, T-shirts, and ice cream scoops. There is also a beautiful hand-stenciled mural and a large freezer full of to-go pints in flavors such as sea salt with caramel ribbons, chocolate gooey brownie, almond brittle with salted ganache, honey lavender, and other flavors.

Now's the time to pick up a special holiday pint (or two). Choose among peppermint cocoa, apple brandy and pecan pie, gingerbread cookie dough, Congressman Blumenauer's fruitcake, and fennel five-spiced eggnog.

Salt & Straw partners with local artisans, producers, and farmers in Portland, Oregon, and Los Angeles to serve creative ice creams. Each flavor is handmade in small batches. LA locations include Larchmont Village, Venice, Studio City, and now downtown LA Arts District. Another location will open in West Hollywood in early 2017.

Want it delivered? Salt & Straw has a Pick Your Own Five Pack package where you can choose your favorites and have them delivered to your door or as a present to those on your holiday gift list. Visit saltandstraw.com for more information.
