Planters Is Bringing Back Cheez Balls

We thought that Planters' Cheez Balls had been discontinued and gone to snack heaven in 2006, but after 12-years of pining for the perfect crunchy cheesy bites — they are making a triumphant return.

Ever since a mysterious canister of Cheez Balls were placed on eBay by Mr. Peanut himself, fans of the cheesy puff snack have been wondering if it's coming back.

The monocle and top hat wearing nut tweeted, "How much would you give to try my Cheez Balls? No. Really. There's a canister up on eBay."

The snack later sold to the highest bidder for over $2,000.

Fans who remembered the nostalgic snack replied to Mr. Peanut, saying that they would give anything and sign any petition for the orange cheezy balls to return to snack aisles.

And Planters listened. As of July 1, Planters' Cheez Balls and Cheez Curls will be available on Amazon and Walmart.com for a limited time only for just $1.99. The cult favorite snack is not left over from the early oughts–these are the fresh 2018 canned versions of the Cheez Balls that you know and love from a time when Xanga was still a thing people used and Nada Surf was cool.

"We heard many impassioned pleas for us to bring Cheez Balls and Cheez Curls back over the years and we wanted to give our fans a chance to reunite with their most-missed cheesy snack" Planters Head of Brand Building Melanie Huet said via a press release. "We made sure our Cheez Balls and Cheez Curls still have the same delicious taste, airy texture and fluorescent color you know and love, so our fans can enjoy a nostalgic trip down memory lane with every canister."
