New Happy Hour At Ruth's Chris Uptown Features Live Music Every Thursday

If you are in Uptown Dallas this summer, check out the new Thursday happy hour at Ruth's Chris Uptown. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., the steakhouse is offering 50 percent off selected bottles of wine, $9 cocktails, $9 full-size appetizers, and live music.

I checked it out at a media event this week and can report:

  • The discounted wines aren't bargain-basement labels — they are serious! Names like Sonoma Cutrer, Kim Crawford, S.A. Prum, The Prisoner, Siduri, Kenwood, Daou, and Amancaya are included in the half-price offerings.
  • The cocktail selection is large and prepared with fresh ingredients right at the bar. Among the classic choices are a Manhattan, a martini, and a cosmo.
  • When they say "full-size appetizers," they mean it! Choose from dishes such as a the USDA Prime burger with fries, the crab BLT with zucchini fries, the steak sandwich with fries (a sliced fillet and béarnaise sauce with lettuce, tomato and onions), and, my favorite, the seared ahi tuna lightly dashed with a soy-based sauce and accompanied by sliced ginger and cucumber.

Served on the sunny patio, or seated by the bar, accompanied by the music of local duo Faith and Rye, the Ruth's Chris happy hour is just about the perfect way to end a Thursday.
