Model and reality-TV star Kendall Jenner is rich and famous and only 20 years old, but her life is not as charmed as it might seem, because she can’t eat pancakes because she’s actually afraid of them. For real.
According to Refinery 29, Jenner says she can’t eat pancakes because the little “holes” in the pancake’s surface cause her anxiety. Jenner suffers from a condition called trypophobia, which is a “fear of holes.” It’s a real thing, like arachnophobia, and it means that things like lotus heads or honeycombs and even pancakes actually give her extreme anxiety.
“Anyone who knows me knows that I have really bad trypophobia,” Jenner wrote on her blog, according to Foodbeast. “Trypophobics are afraid of tiny little holes that are in weird patterns. Things that could set me off are pancakes, honeycomb, or lotus heads (the worst!). It sounds ridiculous but so many people actually have it! I can't even look at little holes — it gives me the worst anxiety. Who knows what's in there???”
In the case of pancakes, “what’s in there?” is probably just buttermilk and flour and deliciousness, but it sounds like Jenner will be missing out on that.
