Astro Doughnuts And Fried Chicken Opens First LA Location
Located in downtown LA on 6th Street is the City of Angels' first Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken restaurant.
The Washington, D.C., phenomenon brings two classic comfort foods together by offering fried chicken and doughnuts under the same roof.
The LA location serves the chain's signature menu featuring a rotating array of seasonal doughnuts, fried chicken dishes, unique sides, and specialty doughnut sandwiches. Fried chicken options include bone-in, chicken fingers, fried chicken sandwiches, and wings by the half dozen or larger party packs.
For sandwich orders, diners can choose from fried chicken, fried chicken with hot sauce and honey butter, fried chicken with sausage gravy, fried chicken with bacon, lettuce and tomato or topped with a fried egg. Bun choices include a savory doughnut, potato roll, cheddar biscuit, or Old Bay doughnut. Sauces include blue cheese, honey mustard, sriracha mayo, sriracha buffalo, ranch, and BBQ. Sides include kimchi cole slaw, tater tots, and a cheddar biscuit.
Daily doughnuts include vanilla glazed, maple bacon, peanut butter and jelly, and crème brulee. Seasonal flavors include, among others, chocolate caramel macchiato, peach melba, blackberry lime tart and passion fruit Boston crème pie.
Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken also serves a variety of coffee drinks from La Colombe.
The 400-square-foot dining room has limited indoor and outdoor seating and features reclaimed wood with industrial metal accents, quartz countertops, and an open kitchen.
Located at 516 W. 6th Street, Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
