Guy Fieri is best known for his spiky hair and his exclamations that usually allude to hopping on a bus to Flavortown, but in between sampling chili cheese fries and triple cheeseburgers he's made time to say some things that you might consider to be rather profound. Here are five:

Life Lesson #1:
"No matter how tough the meat may be, it's going to be tender if you slice it thin enough."

Life Lesson #2:
"You don't have to eat a whole cheeseburger, just take a piece of the cheeseburger."

Life Lesson #3:
"My stay-married secret would probably be exercising good communication, not when you have to, but all the time. I think if you do that, you kinda just cleanse the situations, so there's no build up. I think that's probably the best way to do it."

Life Lesson #4:
"Don't ever use lighter fluid — it's un-American. Amateurs, losers, and idiots use lighter fluid. If you've bought this book, you are inherently none of those three things, so let's make sure to teach others the correct way that real pitmasters start a fire. Lighter fluid makes your food taste like crap and is bad for the environment."

Life Lesson #5:
"If you slow it down, eat in courses, your body, mind, stomach will catch up with this full feeling and you won't eat as much."
