Dunkin' Donuts To Release 2 New Seasonal Items

The Daily Meal can exclusively report that on the morning of Monday, Nov. 4, Dunkin' Donuts will roll out a host of seasonal offerings, including two new releases: Red Velvet Latte and Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. Returning menu items include the popular Red Velvet Drizzle Donut and the Holiday Star Donut.

"We're incredibly excited to be rolling out an item that translates bakery concepts into a beverage," Dunkin' Donuts executive chef Stan Frankenthaler told us when asked about the Red Velvet Latte, which will taste just like their red velvet donut, right down to the less sweet, more mellow chocolate and cream cheese icing flavor. "This time of year, we want comfort and cheer, and this appeals to the nostalgic hook inside us all."

Also joining the beverage roster will be a Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate, taking advantage of one of the most popular flavor trends of the year, salted caramel. "Customers have come to count on us for high-quality hot chocolate, which has really become one of our classics," Frankenthaler added.

The Red Velvet Drizzle and Holiday Star Donut (a star-shaped, Bavarian cream-filled donut topped with green icing and white star sprinkles) were big sellers during the holidays this year, and they'll also be returning to the menus, joining seasonal coffees including peppermint mocha and white chocolate, and hot chocolates including white chocolate, dark chocolate, and mint chocolate.
