Watch: Serena Williams Orders Espresso In The Middle Of Hopman Cup Match, Wins
During the Hopman Cup in Western Australia on Monday, January 5, pro tennis player and women's singles No.1 Serena Williams ordered an espresso after her first set, asking "Is it illegal to order an espresso? I mean, I don't know if it's allowed. Is it allowed? I'm tired."
In the video from the Hopman Cup, Williams order an espresso "as black as it gets," and then drinks it quickly before resuming her game. The video stops there, but Williams went on to defeat her opponent, Italy's Flavia Pennetta.
As you may recall, it wasn't too long ago that another tennis pro paused during a match to grab a quick refreshment. In the middle of his US Open match against Roger Federer, French player Gael Monfils poured himself a Coke.
"Sometimes I just want a Coke," he reportedly explained in his post-match press conference. Monfils, however, went on to lose the match against Federer.
