Dream Registry: Designer Waffles

Oh, if this were real, how happy we’d be

Lewicki's Oreo manhole cover is pretty genius, if you ask us.

While many brides wait for their KitchenAid standing mixers to be purchased off their registries, a more extravagant wish-list item has popped up.

A designer waffle maker, while not quite a necessity, would surely make a great addition to your kitchen — not to mention it would turn your blasé waffle into the stuff doughy dreams are made of. This custom appliance, if real, would be fantastic for fashionistas and the label-obsessed alike. Made by artist Andrew Lewicki, whose work portrays the whimsical side of ordinary objects.

This isn’t his first food-fused project. Back in 2010, Lewicki made an Oreo cookie manhole cover and an Oreo-embroidered mattress.

Just think if Lewicki were in cahoots with Louis Vuitton on this one — big, big profits would be had all around. As for Oreo, we can imagine a ton of accidents would occur if those manholes were on roads across the country.
