Danny Meyer Wins March Madness Food Fight 2012
After a heated six rounds, the winner of the 2012 March Madness Food Fight has finally been decided — congratulations to Danny Meyer. The Shake Shack mogul beat out cunning and sharp-witted food personality Anthony Bourdain. Meyer swiped the title from Bourdain, the victor of last year's food fight.
In the first six rounds, the competitors were chosen based on their personalities, their stature in the food world, and, well, because it just seemed fun to put them up against each other for reasons beyond their culinary prowess. After putting the fate of these culinary challenges in the hands of the public, the results of the matchups were quite interesting. Meyer claimed his first win over fellow restaurateur Keith McNally, then from there continued his streak by beating out Sirio Maccioni, Alain Ducasse, Wolfgang Puck, Tom Colicchio, and finally Anthony Bourdain.
