Da Umberto: Still Got It
What was once a hot new entry on the New York dining scene has evolved into a mainstay, go-to place for high quality Italian food. On the border of Chelsea and Greenwich Village in New York City, Da Umberto has for years been serving consistently great meals in a comfortable (although noisy at night) dinning room. Everything from the antipasti to the deserts are wonderful and can be counted on to satisfy. Regular menu standouts include the salmon and all of the pastas, but don't be confined by what is printed on the menu. Like many high quality Italian restaurants, there are always a cornucopia of specials to choose from and often diners do not make it to the actual menu before alighting on their selections for the evening.
Supported by a very nice wine list and attentive wait staff, Da Umberto promises not to disappoint. Although, do keep in mind that all this comes at a price.
