There’s no better way to let your creativity rock than making a smoothie. Its color, flavor, and texture can be customized to serve any purpose. Do you need a recharge after an exhausting work out? Or how about a quick breakfast as you run out the door to work? A smoothie can do it all.
But the best part about smoothies is that you can easily incorporate nutrient-rich ingredients that would otherwise be left out of your diet. Eating a handful of raw spinach, a grated beet, or a cup of blueberries might not fit into your normal eating routine, but these foods can be easily tossed into a blender. Healthy smoothies are also an excellent breakfast for kids; a tablespoon of peanut butter and a cup of almond milk can mask any funky tastes.
All of this week’s SWAT (Sharing With A Theme) entries looked and sounded fantastic, but we could only choose 10. Check out the slideshow of healthy smoothie recipes from this past week, courtesy of our always amazing Culinary Content Network of food bloggers.
