This Outdoor Kitchen In Washington Sizzles Through Rain And Shine
While browsing the Find Pros section on Houzz, Miron Washington came across a landscape design company with an eye-catching collection of backyard projects and a name that's hard to resist. Paradise Restored Landscaping & Exterior Design has transformed backyards throughout the Pacific Northwest, and had the right recipe for creating a magical retreat for the Washington family and their friends.

A large tongue and groove cedar roof covers much of the patio area, ensuring that the Washingtons can enjoy the space rain or shine. An evergreen tree provides shade for the hammock.
The homeowners like to grill year-round, and in the state of Washington that means dealing with a lot of rainy days. Therefore, the gas grill is right off the back door and is covered by a large overhang connected to the house. A gas line connects directly to the grill, so there's no need to change propane tanks. The grill surround, which encloses a refrigerator and an ice chest, is covered in a cultured stone and topped with a hearthstone. The transition area between the outdoor wood deck and the patio provided a good location for a custom bar on the back side of the grill. "You can hang out and keep the person working the grill company," says Micah Dennis, owner of Paradise Restored. Stools: Pier 1 Imports
The two-sided gas fireplace is self-ventilated and gives off heat on both sides. The patio flooring is meant to look like slate but is an architectural slab of concrete that has been coated in a shiny sealant. Gas fireplace: Firebox, EcoSmart Fire; architectural concrete: Mutual Materials
The wood-burning pizza oven was placed at the outside edge of the hardscape because of the tremendous heat it produces when roaring at full blast. It is covered in the same cultured stone and hearthstone used for the gas grill and fireplace. Pizza oven surround: Mutual Materials
