Giant Oatmeal Crème Pie
To make this giant version of a Little Debbie Oatmeal Crème Pie, you will need a trusted recipe for a soft chewy oatmeal cookie. Look for one with all or mostly brown sugar for a chewier cookie, like this oatmeal cookie recipe. To form the cookies roll two cookies about the size of your palm in a ball and bake for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees F. For the filling, make your standard cream filling by whipping together four tablespoons of butter, two-thirds cup powdered sugar, one tablespoon heavy cream, a dash of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until light and fluffy.
To make this giant Oreo you will need two eight-inch cake pans. Then, make this recipe for homemade Oreos, but make sure to double the recipe and divide the dough between the two cake pans to bake. Adjust the recipes baking time for the larger cookie size, which should be about 20 minutes. Then, whip up the cream filling and sandwich the cookies with the crème.
Giant Pop Tart
To make a giant Pop Tart, you will need store-bought pie crust or a trusted homemade dough recipe. Then, roll the dough and cut out two three-by-six rectangles, set aside while you make the filling. For the filling, you can use the recipe from your favorite fruit pie, layer Nutella with fresh slices of banana, or opt for a savory ham and cheese filling. Add the filling to one of the rectangles of pie crust, making sure to leave at least a half-inch border. Brush the edges with an egg wash, top the filling with the second piece of dough, and crimp the edges with a fork. Transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet, poke the top of the pies with a fork so steam can escape, brush with the remaining egg wash, and bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
