Easy Snack Recipes To Make The Most Out Of Summer

School's almost out for the summer! As the end of the school year approaches, students are eagerly awaiting the months filled with friends, fun, and most importantly, no homework. On the other hand, parents are preparing and planning for those long summer months with the little ones. Summer brings a slew of activities such as summer camp, swimming, baseball, piano practice, road trips and more. Here's a few tips to help busy moms and dads keep the kids full for a fun-filled summer.

1. Oatmeal Breakfast Bars

With busy schedules, a few minutes of extra preparation can make the mornings a tad smoother. You'll not only save time in long run, but you may even get to sleep in a little longer this summer – and have a tasty, energizing breakfast waiting for you and the kids! Try these oatmeal breakfast bars as a quick breakfast or snack to nibble on later in the day. Use the FoodSaver® Food Preservation System to vacuum seal the bars and lock-in the freshness for tomorrow's breakfast.

2. Trail Mix

Trail mix is the perfect snack for busy moms and dads. It's packed with protein and has a hint of sweetness, which makes it a great snack to toss the kids before hitting the field this summer. Just combine a handful of almonds, raisins, dried pineapple, macadamia nuts, peanuts and walnuts. Add in some of your other favorite dried fruits or mix in a few chunks of chocolate for extra sweetness.

Divide the trail mix into about seven servings and pour the ingredients into FoodSaver® bags. Seal it up, and you're done! You'll have an easy, go-to snack for you and the kids all week-long.

3. Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who can resist warm chocolate chip cookies? Well, baking is a lot easier with the FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System. You can make the dough whenever you find some free time, and save it later for a sweet treat. Once you've whipped up the dough, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least two hours. Simply remove the dough, place it in a FoodSaver® bag, and seal it. You and the kids will have fresh chocolate chip cookie dough for months! When you're ready to bake, just remove the dough from the freezer and leave it at room temperature for about two hours or until it becomes softened. Pop the dough in the oven, and enjoy.

With summer just around the corner, get a head start! Pack your pantry and freezer with goodies to leave more time for things like fun.
