8 Recipes That Give Turmeric The Spotlight

Turmeric comes from the root of Curcuma longa, a member of the ginger family (and it's a funny-looking little tuber might we just add, too). It is delightfully bitter with aromas of orange and ginger, and, notably, it lends the most vibrant yellow color to all foods it touches.

Turmeric has grown exponentially in popularity in recent years due to its anti-inflammatory health properties. It is usually a spice used in conjunction with other spices and ingredients; Indian cuisine, in particular, is known to use a lot of turmeric for dishes like curry.

For this week's SWAT (Sharing With A Theme), we asked our Culinary Content Network of food bloggers to share with us their most turmeric-centric recipes for ultra-inflammation-fighting power.
