This is my post-run treat; it’s important to eat some protein shortly after a long run, but I am rarely hungry. This shake is goes down quite easily — it is rich and creamy, full of healthy fats and antioxidants, and a great reward to look forward to while grinding away on the pavement!
- ½ ripe California Haas avocado
- 2 Tablespoons Dutch-process cocoa powder
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/4 Cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 Cup chocolate-flavored almond milk
- 1 scoop protein powder
- Pinch of cinnamon
Blend everything together in a blender until creamy smooth. Add more almond milk as needed to reach your preferred thickness. Serve in an ice cold glass.
