Chef Ralph Pagano Injured In Gas Explosion At Restaurant

Chef Ralph Pagano, the host of All Mixed Up on the Lifetime network, was seriously injured in an accidental gas explosion at his new restaurant in the Bahamas.

According to Local 10 News, Pagano was opening a new location of his Naked Taco restaurant in Bimini in the Bahamas on Friday when he turned on the gas stove and there was an enormous explosion. There were other cooks and crew in the area, but Pagano reportedly took the brunt of the explosion and suffered third-degree burns to 40 percent of his body, especially his hands and feet. Pagano's wife Buffy says her husband pushed another cook out of the way of the explosion.

Pagano was airlifted from Bimini to a trauma center in Miami. Pagano told reporters he'll have a long recovery in front of him, and he expects to need skin grafts and at least a month in the hospital.

"I'm going to need skin grafts and about a month in the hospital, but I'm alive," he said.

It is not yet known why the stove exploded, but Pagano had reportedly been given the OK to turn the burners on before the accident.
