Chef Hector Diaz Moves From Oakland to San Francisco
Chef Hector Diaz is known throughout Oakland, Calif., for his artistry and creativity in the kitchen and beyond, and now he’s setting his sights on the San Francisco dining scene. Following the news of B Restaurant’s closing in Oakland, Diaz will now helm the kitchen at B Restaurant and Bar San Francisco.
"[Diaz] has shown the East Bay his tremendous talent for creating a seasonally focused and exciting menu at B Oakland and I’m happy to bring that into the heart of San Francisco," says owner Kevin Best.
Chef Diaz will continue to incorporate seasonal items into his dishes, sourced from local Bay Area farms. These ingredients will be the stars of the restaurant’s signature dishes, such as a ceviche trio with octopus, salmon belly, and shrimp; and Brussels sprouts with mushrooms, lemon confit, bacon, capers, and garlic sauce. The restaurant will also offer a variety of sandwiches and pizzas.
Chef Hector Diaz’s motto is "keep it seasonal, keep it fresh, keep it simple, but keep it exciting," which he will definitely continue to represent at B Bar and Restaurant San Francisco.
