Cat Cora Cited For DUI
Today in celebrity gossip, news broke that Food Network's Cat Cora was charged with a DUI after she went to Cold Spring Tavern in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Details have just surfaced recently, with police confirming the incident with TODAY.com. The Iron Chef presence and co-host of Around the World in 80 Plates was reportedly returning from Cold Spring Tavern with her partner on June 17, rear-ending another vehicle at 6:15 p.m. at low speed. Luckily, no one was injured.
Cora reportedly told officers she had three bottles of beer, and her breath samples tested a .20 and .19 blood-alcohol level. That's more than twice the 0.08 legal limit.
Cora is scheduled for an arraignment July 26; it is her first DUI. In a statement from her publicist, Cora apologized, saying, "I deeply regret my decision to drive that evening after my designated driver became unavailable. I learned a very important lesson from this experience and take full accountability for my actions. This will never happen again."
