BuzzTable To Make 2-Hour, No-Reservation Waits More Bearable
If there's any restaurant trend we wish would die, it would be the no-reservation policy that was super big maybe a year ago? Because two-hour waits are not cool.
So this iPhone and Android app sounds like it's made for us: TechCrunch reports that BuzzTable lets people see where they are on a waitlist at all times, which sort of lets you walk around and shop for a bit to kill the accurate amount of time.
Customers can also sign up for rewards; see popular dishes from OpenTable, Yelp, and foursquare; and also send feedback. But even more exciting? BuzzTable is working on developing a feature to allow you to put yourself on the waitlist virtually. So a two-hour wait may feel more like a last-minute reservation. Score.
Unfortunately, the app is only available in some New York restaurants for now, including Dinosaur BBQ, Ippudo, Benchmarc Restaurants, Pastis, and Lucky Strike. Fingers crossed that more restaurants sign on.
