Brooklyn Bowl Opens Location In London
One of the most iconic Williamsburg, N.Y., mainstays, Brooklyn Bowl, has opened its first location overseas. London's O2 Centre (a concert arena in Southeast London) will house the bowling, food, and entertainment haven, which opens its doors next week. The British Brooklyn Bowl is not supposed to see much of a change from the party spot that New Yorkers are familiar with, which has featured such musical performers as Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, and Guns N' Roses.
There will be 32,000 square feet of live music, 12 lanes of bowling, and the same menu of Blue Ribbon food from Eric and Bruce Bromberg, featuring Cajun Southern favorites like po'boys, Cajun catfish, and their signature fried chicken, just like in the New York location. Supposedly, the new location will also feature pints on tap from Meantime, a local London Brewery, according to Jam Bands.
"We're combining bowling with the best live music, visuals, food, and drink," said Brooklyn Bowl co-founder Charley Ryan. Co-founder Peter Shapiro added, "We're psyched to bring Brooklyn Bowl to London. We could not have picked a better city."
Brooklyn Bowl and Blue Ribbon is not the first entertainment/food venue from the five boroughs to jump the pond. Daniel Boulud opened up a Bar Boulud in London in 2011 and the well-known New York chain Sushisamba also opened a London location in 2011.
Another Brooklyn Bowl location is set to open in Las Vegas later this year.
