Bistro Vendome - Fabulous Spot For Brunch
Bistro Vendome is a classic French restaurant on the busy Larimar Street in downtown Denver, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I found it a wonderful spot for a family brunch on a weekend. Step inside the doors and you'll feel transported to a small bistro in Paris, complete with a lovely courtyard seating area that's popular in the warm weather. The tiles, the decor, even the fonts used on the menu, just feel French.
The menu at Bistro Vendome features all sorts of classic French dishes — things like onion soup, foie gras, mussels, crepes, roulade, and steak frites — but Executive Chef Jennifer Jasinski also uses fresh and seasonal ingredients to add a little twist to the standards. The restaurant features a classic French dish every Thursday night on their Specials board, so if you're craving things like Cassoulet, Bouillabaisse, or Duck a L'orange you'll want to try visiting on a Thursday.
The brunch menu features a wide selection of champagne based drinks, as well as the witty list of "Hangover Drinks", along with a wide selection of croque sandwiches, egg-based classics, and the ever present mussels. We loved our meal — you can read all about it here and see pictures of some of the great entrees we had — but make sure you make a reservation as this spot gets busy.
