Betsey Johnson Brings The Sweet To Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week made its grand entrance today at the tents at Lincoln Center. While many of New York's hottest designers are preparing to showcase their collections, Betsey Johnson is debuting something else. 

In addition to her usual bold styles, frilly hemlines, and out-of-the box themed shows, Johnson is showing off her sweeter side.

With the help of New York City's Baked by Melissa, Johnson designed an exclusive pink tie-dye cupcake, with pink vanilla icing, a pink popping (think Pop Rocks) chocolate layer, multi-color glitter, and a pink popping chocolate topping, exclusively for Fashion Week. The frilly treats will be gifted to guests at Johnson's show.  

But why cupcakes? "What's the closest thing to my signature pink, poufy, sparkly, prom dresses?" she told us. "Why a pink, sparkly cupcake of course, baked by the one and only girl that gets it — Melissa!"

We couldn't agree more.
