Lukshen Cheese Kugel

A lighter version of a classic dish

This kugel recipe uses the light versions of cottage cheese and sour cream to render a delicious and slightly healthier version of a timeless dish.

  • 12 Ounces medium noodles
  • 1 (16-ounce) container cottage cheese
  • 1 (8-ounce) carton sour cream
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon flour
  • 1/4 - 1/2 Cup oil


Cook noodles; drain.

In large bowl, combine noodles with remaining kugel ingredients (not the topping).

Mix well. 

Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over noodle mixture. 

Bake in a nine- by 13-inch pan at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about one hour or until top is golden.
