The Best Events At LA Beer Week
The über-cool LA Beer Week is well underway for California's swankiest beer lovers. For the next week, Los Angeles will be flooded with local craft beers, awesome food and beer pairings, and events unlike any at other beer festivals. This isn't your typical beer week: check out our best bets for LA Beer Week.
Saturday, Sept. 22: Schneider Beer Brunch
If you're going to eat sausages and beer at any time, it better be brunch. Take in a five-course sausage and Schneider beer pairing, hosted by Wurstküche.
Sunday, Sept. 23: Crap for Craft
This might be the most genius idea to get your Bud- and Coors-drinking friends to switch over to craft beers. Take them to Beer Belly, bring all the crap beer in your fridge, and the good people there will offer a craft beer for your crap for $0.01 each. Holy bargain, and holy good beer.
Sunday, Sept. 23: The Beauty of the Barrel
Hosted by Brew Something LA and the Victorian, the event is all about barrels. Ten breweries will have barrel-aged beer on tap, plus craft cocktails made with the barrel-aged beers and (you guessed it) barrel-aged spirits. Proceeds from the event will go to a local charity, The Virginia Avenue Project.
Tuesday, Sept. 25: Musical Beer Crawl
Take in Echo Park's W. Sunset Boulevard's music (and food, and beer) scene during the second annual musical beer crawl. Live music, "real beer," giveaways, and good times to be had by all.
Thursday, Sept. 27: Suckling Pig Roast
A pig roast is cool and all, but this pig has been marinated in Los Angeles favorite Firestone Walker beer. You have to get a bite of this at King's Row Gastropub.
Sunday, Sept. 30: LA Beer Festival
You didn't think we'd forget about the whole shebang at the end, did you? Seventy breweries, LA's best food trucks, and countless artisans will be at Union Station to give you the best beer experience on tap.
Don't forget about all the incentives during the week, too: an Untappd badge for LA Beer Week, the "Caps for Caps" to trade in beer-week sponsored bottle caps for ball caps, and the LA Beer Week Bucket List to complete in return for prizes from breweries. (And check out more events for the weeklong fest here.) Enjoy, beer-drinkers of Los Angeles — if only this was a national event.
