While we love summer, we must admit we’re glad fall is here. There’s something about the season that just speaks to us (maybe it’s all of the delicious root vegetables). In honor of fall’s arrival, we’re sharing a delicious recipe, prepared by the culinary team at Plated.

Ingredients

  • 2 Gala Apples
  • ¼ Teaspoon ground coriander
  • ¼ Cup finely grated white cheddar cheese
  • 2 Teaspoons olive oil
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 F.

Halve apples and remove cores and stems. Thinly slice using a mandoline.

On a baking sheet toss the apples with olive oil, and coriander, and season with salt and pepper.

Arrange in a single layer and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake until crisp, about 15 minutes more.

Baked Apple Shopping Tip

Be sure to purchase the correct flour a recipe calls for – flours differ in gluten or protein content, making each suited for specific tasks.

Baked Apple Cooking Tip

Insert a toothpick into the center of cakes, bar cookies, and quick breads to test for doneness – it should come out clean or only have a few crumbs clinging to it.
