Baby Sea Lion Found In San Diego Restaurant
Restaurant staff who show up to work in the morning to find random creatures living in the dining room are not often rewarded with intense displays of cuteness, but this week staff at The Marine Room in La Jolla were not unpleasantly surprised to discover an adorable baby sea lion chilling in the restaurant's dining room before service.
According to CNN, the female sea lion cub had managed to get into the high-end restaurant during the night and slept in one of the booths. Staff found her looking out the window at the sea and took some pictures before calling animal control, because she was very cute.
"We found This little guy in the The Marine Room restaurant this morning. He was a little bit early for his high tide breakfast reservation, as it is this weekend on Sunday and Monday," wrote executive chef Bernard Guillas on the restaurant's Facebook page.
According to the San Diego Union Tribune, the sea lion was taken to SeaWorld, where she was named Marina and is being fed and hanging out with other sea lions. They say she's having a good time and will hopefully be able to be released back in the wild once she's put on weight and is stronger.
