Avocado and Turkey Health Sandwich with Sprouts Recipe


Try making this refreshing and filling sandwich with homemade mayonnaise or hummus for added creaminess. Play around with different ingredients like shredded carrots, thinly-sliced cucumbers or a variety of herbs like basil, mint or tarragon.  


2 pieces of whole wheat bread

Mayonnaise, preferably homemade (optional)

Hummus (optional)

Dijon mustard

3 slices turkey breast

2 tomato slices

¼ cup sprouts

2 pieces crisp Romaine or red leaf lettuce

½ avocado, sliced thinly

Salt and freshly ground black pepper (optional)


On one slice of bread, spread either a thin layer of mayonnaise or hummus, if using either. On the other slice, spread a thin layer of mustard. Then add the remaining ingredients and season with salt and pepper, if desired.
