Experience
LaTesha is a writer, educator, cultural critic, and, most importantly, a born and bred Texan. She has been writing since she was three and finally started making money off it in 2018. An avid traveler, she has reported in China and South Africa with her work being featured in Bitch Media, Variety, Chicago Reader, and more. She spent two years at NPR's music desk, providing editorial assistance and original content for Tiny Desk, All Songs Considered, Pop Culture Happy Hour, and the award-winning podcast Louder Than A Riot. In 2024, she became a published author with the release of How Women Made Music. After her turn in corporate media, she served with the Peace Corps for three years in Colombia, an experience that fortified her commitment to sharing great stories and building community across cultures. Outside of newsrooms and classrooms, she loves dreaming of alternate realities, scrapbooking, and playing in water.
