Atlanta Airport's International Terminal Adds New Eateries
Late stragglers coming home from this weekend's Atlanta Food & Wine Festival may enjoy the opening of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport's renovated international terminal. The best part of the $1.4 billion renovations? The new restaurants.
Opening May 16, the international terminal will be home to some of Atlanta's best restaurants. One Atlanta favorite, The Varsity, "the world's largest drive-in restaurant," best known for its hot dogs, burgers, and chili, will set up shop at between gates. The terminal will also include another Atlanta gem, The Pecan, home to "Southern fusion" dishes like oven-roasted buttermilk pecan chicken or tilapia with Cajun crème sauce. Travelers can grab a Mexican pizza or Cubanelle chile relleno at Atlanta's "spirited" Mexican joint, The Original El Taco, and the best place for coffee will be Sweet Auburn Market Café.
There's also the traditional chains entering the terminal, including Pei Wei Asian Diner and French Meadow Bakery.
