Aspen Food & Wine Classic: June 17 – 19, 2011

Does your schedule usually include a seminar on eggs with Jacques Pepin? Do you usually consult Ming Tsai on your one-pot meals? And do you call Susan Feniger at home to chat about street foods around the world? If that doesn't sound like a normal week in your life, the Aspen Food & Wine Classic is food festival heaven.

From June 17 — 19, a veritable who's who of the food and wine worlds will descend on Aspen not to ski, but to cook food, drink wine, talk about food and wine, think about food and wine, and nap after too much food and wine. This is among the most enticing food festivals in the U.S., drawing household names into the mountains.

Day one alone will see Daniel Boulud, Mario Batali, Ken Oringer, and Danny Meyer hosting workshops, demonstrations, and events. Jose Andres, Marcus Samuelsson, and Jerome Bocuse are also on the list of presenters focusing on such mouth-watering topics as a Grilling Master Class, How to Taste Wine like a Pro, a guide to cocktails, and Global Street Foods. Visitors will hobnob with industry pros and chat about things like what wines to pair with spicy foods. We are friends with some of those lucky attendees who'll be giving us some insights over the festival about what was most delicious, who offered up the best cooking secrets, and what the real scoop was.
